Australian artist Stephen Eastaugh talks of travel and texture.
STEPHEN EASTAUGH is an Australian mixed media artist whose work can be found in public collections in Australia, USA and private collections all over the world. An established artist with severe wanderlust who has undertaken over thirty art residencies world-wide. Eastaugh has travelled to over 100 countries and is probably the most well-travelled Australian artist alive. While on the road he has managed to present over one hundred solo exhibitions in a wide range of venues. Studios have been set up on a Russian Icebreaker at the North Pole, in a science building one winter in east Antarctica and many places in-between. Travel, geography and dis/location have continuously fed his practice which has always been characterized by overseas research and the creation of new mixed media work in response to extensive travels.
