Rotating Rounds - E.G. Phillips, Clara Blume, Shawn Byron and Ainsley Wagoner (($10 before/$15 day of show))

SEE EVENT DETAILS

E.G. Phillips

E.G. Phillips is a San Francisco based songwriter who creates lyric driven songs with his own special blend of whimsy and cinematic imagery which he uses to give a wry take on dealing with the longings of the heart and the madness of existence. He comes from a country called the Midwest, has a degree in Geography, and his favorites include Bob Dylan and The Kinks as well as Duke Ellington and that crowd (a touch of Tom Lehrer might also be in the mix). "Ducks With Pants" is the name of his so-called fake band.

?Phillips has been the "Songwriter-in-Residence" at Bazaar Cafe (September 2015 and April 2017) and a featured performer at the Hotel Utah, Neck of the Woods, PianoFight and Cafe International. For the past two years, E.G. has hosted “E.G. Phest" (most recently at the Lost Church) where a dozen or so Bay Area musicians cover one of his songs for his birthday, giving them their own distinct spin and bringing the local music community together in what is really a celebration of song, the art of performance and friendship.

?In early 2017 Phillips released his first official album "Fish from the Sky" — a collection of well worn originals he's performed around the Bay Area for many years.

Shawn Byron

Shawn Byron is a regular at Bay Area bars, cafes, and musical haunts with a resume that includes shows at the Hotel Utah, the EXIT Theater (as part of Songwriter Saturdays) and Bazaar Cafe. Moonlighting as a rock and roll balladeer and drawing on the stylings of Greg Allman, Paul Simon, Sam Cooke and Bing Crosby, Shawn brings a sound made of equal parts fingerstyle folk and sultry sixties soul. He recently traded up from his 12 string guitar with only six strings to a mighty fine Gibson jumbo guitar.

Shawn is currently working on his debut album.

Clara Blume

The Austrian singer, songwriter, and pianist Clara Blume recently moved from her hometown Vienna to Berkeley where she will start pursuing her musical career in the US. For the past fifteen years Clara has been writing her own songs and performing with renowned musicians from all over the world to international recognition. Her songwriting in English and Spanish culminated in her critically acclaimed and award nominated debut album “Here Comes Everything” (www.clarablume.com). While promoting her music, Clara appeared several times on national television and was invited to tour through Europe and the US. The artist will perform pieces from her first album as well as Spanish songs from her soon to be released second record.

Ainsley Wagoner (aka Silverware)

Ainsley writes and sings sparse hymn-like melodies over her electric guitar. Recently she’s played at San Francisco’s Rite Spot, Bazaar Cafe and Revolution Cafe.
