One Performances Only! Saturday, June 16th at 11:30pm. (Doors open at 11:30pm for a 20 minute preshow. Midnight screening.)
Total Rocky Horror participation fun in the casual atmosphere of downtown San Jose’s newest arts venue. Easy access from 680/280. Located in the heart of the SoFA Arts District with great places to eat, have coffee, listen to music, and more. The theater itself has wine, beer and food.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 British musical horror comedy/rock opera film that parodies science fiction and B-movie horror films. The film introduced Tim Curry and features Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick along with cast members from the original Kings Road production of the play first performed in the Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court Theatre in 1973.
Still in limited release 40 years after its premiere, it has the longest-running theatrical release in film history and is considered a cult classic gaining notoriety as a midnight movie in 1977 when audiences began participating with the film in theaters across the United States.
The cast puts on a sleek and sexy professional show complete with scenery, props, screen accurate costumes, and audience participation. It’s like seeing a play and a movie at the same time – and you are part of the experience! Free “Survival Kits” are provided before the show and contain: bubbles, noise makers, toilet paper, toast, cards, and instruction sheets (explaining when to use each item). Photos with the cast are available following the show.
Come enjoy the show or get more involved as a member of the cast. Costumes are encouraged.
