Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Rob Flax performs music from his debut solo record, "Distractible Boy." In his “One Man Band” shows, Rob uses a looper pedal and other effects to transform his violin into an entire symphony of sounds.
Opening the show, local chanteuse and pianist Katy Stephan offers her signature pop-classicism and previews new material from her upcoming album, Our Trespasses.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:Rob Flax is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer with a playful heart and an open mind. He has performed nationally and internationally with groups of many different styles, including opening for B.B. King and Tower of Power, accompanying the Trans Siberian Orchestra and YouTube star Jacob Collier, plus collaborations with modern dancers and more. As a composer Rob has written music for choreographers, film (including the soundtrack of James Franco’s film As I Lay Dying), and several original projects. Rob is an alumnus of the New England Conservatory, and he currently lives in Boston.Katy Stephan's music is both sweet and salty, delicate and powerful.Her voice has been featured in major motion picture soundtracks, TV movies and theme songs, and even in childrens toys. She has created original music for theatre productions, modern dance, and circus. “Beautiful sonic valentines handcrafted from oaths, prayers, curses, feathers and frills.”

When should I arrive?
Doors open 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time. For example, if the show is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm, the doors will open at 7:00 pm.

Guests may buy tickets at the door when doors open 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time.
Does the Poppy accept debit or credit cards?
At this time, we can only accept cash and check. Credit card processing will be coming soon.
Is the space ADA accessible?
Yes, there is a ramp at our 23rd St entrance.
What kind of seating do you have available?
For most of our events we have folding chairs and a few couches available.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Street parking is available but can be limited around the Red Poppy. We encourage you to take public transportation whenever possible. Several MUNI lines run close to the Red Poppy and the 24th St./Mission BART station is just under half a mile away.
What can I bring into the event?
Guests are welcome to bring food. Beverages are available by suggested donation. We recommend bringing collapsible strollers, if possible.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No, this event is all ages. However, wine and beer will be served at the concessions counter.
What's the refund policy?
Attendees can receive refunds up to 1 day before your event start date.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You may bring your printed ticket or show your ticket on your phone. There will be no tickets available for pick up at Will Call.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, you’re welcome to purchase tickets for someone else.
