Ritmos Tropicosmos is a seven piece psychedelic cumbia group, from Oakland, creating heavy tropical rhythms with an emphasis on live percussion, synthesizers and familial stories put into song. Las Sucias is a duo formed by Danishta Rivero and Alexandra Buschman, mixing anti-patriarchal riotgrrrl lyrics, afro- caribbean rhythms, brujería noise and possessed vocals. Each performance is a ritual that combines all of the senses and elevates into a higher realm, inspiring the listener to dance, speak in tongues, laugh hysterically and get possessed by the spirits awoken.
mare.e.fresh is a Bay Area DJ and producer known for sets that blend Latin dance, cumbia, heavy bass, and Afro-Caribbean sounds. A Chulita Vinyl Club member, Cumbiatón resident, and Velvet Cloud Radio co-founder, she creates space for women, femmes, and queer folks to move and connect.
