As one of the founding members of the 1960's British folk-rock band Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson played a key role transforming the outfit from a regional band playing cover songs into an internationally celebrated genre-defining band. But he did't stop there. In the early 1970s, Thompson ventured away from the band to pursue other musical interests including several albums with his then-wife Linda Thompson and a solo career that now stretches over several decades.
