Rhythmix Cultural Works (RCW) is a relatively new community arts center in the East Bay that brings people of all ages together for a wide range of high quality arts experiences. With a 200 seat theater space, art gallery, book arts store and classroom, RCW offers affordable space in a state-of-the-art facility for live performance, exhibitions, art education and cultural exchange for youth, families and adults. Through exhibits, workshops, classes and performances, RCW supports local, regional and international artists in the presentation of their work and hopes to encourage community participation in the arts.
Rhythmix Cultural Works, an exciting new center for the performing and visual arts is scheduled to open in June 2007. Located in Alameda, RCW will be an important hub of creative living and learning in the Bay Area. Rhythmix Cultural Works evolved out of Rhythmix, a non-profit world music ensemble established in 1997 dedicated to promoting cultural expression and exchange. Having experienced the power of the cultural arts to bring people together, founder Janet Koike was inspired to create a place that would bring communities together through the arts. - rhythmix.org
