Surrey, England born and bred 19-year-old artist Alex O'Connor started Rex Orange County in his mid-teens, uploading his bedroom-produced debut bcos u will never b free to Bandcamp after falling in love with Frank Ocean's Channel Orange and productions by Thundercat and Toro Y Moi. In April of 2017 he released his EP Apricot Princess, and was recently featured on 2 tracks on Tyler The Creator's Flower Boy.
The show is also one of the first US dates for Radiant Children - if you're not familiar, they're a really exciting London-based band who Rex selected to join him. They burst onto the scene earlier this year following the release of their debut single "Life's A Bitch" accompanied by a Matthew Castellanos visual (Tyler The Creator, Steve Lacy). They just dropped their debut EP TRYIN' which effortlessly blends R&B, soul, funk and jazz to create one of the most original releases of the year.
