A kind of San Jose metal/hardcore/punk supergroup has coalesced in Revolt Revenge. With Joey Ruiz of Insolence on guitar, Alonzo Hernandez of Pounders on bass, Todd Kubiak of Motiv on vocals, and Christopher Ortega on drums, Revolt Revenge is just getting up and running, with a show at Johnny V's last month, and now this special free show at Caravan for Hernandez's birthday. While a birthday celebration might not be the most metal landmark (death-day may be more appropriate?), the songs recorded so far are heavy and brutal, with Kubiak growling over nimble instrumentation.
