CHULAS FRONTERAS (BEAUTIFUL BORDERS) is a zesty introduction to the music and culture of the Texas-Mexican border. DEL MERO CORAZÓN is a lyrical journey through the heart of Chicano culture as reflected in the love songs of the Tex-Mex Norteña music tradition. More than 40 years later, these milestone films continue to resonate as spirited depictions of the porous nature of the border and the vibrant culture that springs from this region. Note: Special musical guests Susan Peña and René Peña-Govea will perform before the screening.
