Learn how to replace or shrink your front lawn with a beautiful, inviting garden of flowering & edible plants that provide seasonal interest as well as drought tolerance. Kim will discuss alternatives to having a conventional lawn in your front yard, including ways to remove a lawn that has invasive weeds growing in it, how to layout your new front yard garden with paths, low fences, planting beds, "no mow" meadows, boulders, seating areas & lighting. She will explain the SCV Water District's landscape rebate program which gives participants money for removing at least 100 square feet of turf grass and replacing it with drought tolerant plants & efficient irrigation in the converted area.
