Repeater Pan is a band from Oakland situated somewhere in a prism of art punk & sage songwriting. They lead with their strongest foot, the LP “Together.” Imagine some sort of Wireinfluenced, snappy punk group with Jeff Buckley crooning his eyes out. Intense but participatory. The songs never dip into dull territory, often teetering on the verge of something experimental that would rise from Mills College. Repeater Pan is what a lot of people wish Radiohead sounded like now; big and sophisticated guitarrock with distinct vocals that don’t go to such overcompensating lengths to prove how intelligent they are. Energy and art melded into a reflective metallic shade.
