Force Placement
Jason James aka Force Placement is a DJ/Producer from Los Angeles, CA. He’s released music on Tigerbeat6, Vanity Press, Material Image and Black Lodge Recordings

LA based DJ/producer and founder of The Black Lodge. He was schooled in the the early 90’s punk/rave scene in the midwest, somewhere between Chicago and Detroit. From 99-2001 he co-founded the infamous Foundation/Trü Skül underground parties in NYC. In 2009, he left for the West Coast and soon after began a radio show called Interplanetary Musik on KCSB 91.9FM where he eventually met Force Placement, who became a co-founder of the Lodge when both moved to LA in 2014. While Kosmik has DJ’d for over two decades, he has only recently began making forays into the production world with two tracks released on Black Lodge Recordings and one on Slaying Medusa as a part of the Optimistic Misanthropes project.

The Creatrix arrived a few years ago and ever since she has been pursuing her own unique path through both dance music and more abstract expressions of sound. .Having cut her teeth as part of the experimental duo Felidae alongside Oakland's legendary electronic music master Beast Nest, she made her mark on the local and international scene in early 2017 with her beautiful and intense first solo release, "Approaching an Abandoned Helm" from New York's No-Tech label. She is well known for her blistering live sets, but has become equally renowned for her skills as a DJ, offering hammering a high energy dance floor in the late night hours of packed nights at the Stud and other local venues. She recently started a radio show on Sutro FM called :World Building which airs 4th mondays at 5pm.

Nihar and Jason have been DJing and organizing events together for the past decade. Having cut their teeth going deep into an exceptionally broad range of sounds through their various projects together (Warm Leatherette, Haçeteria, Surface Tension), they have both developed, in their own ways, an irreverent, unrelenting and improper style of DJing, centering itself somewhat on techno, but reaching for the fringes at whatever chance they get. A B2B all vinyl mix of theirs was included as a CD insert in the sixth edition of Silent Servant's seminal Jealous God label. The jagged line they cut through music is inseparable from the bay area underground it was forged in.
