"Recognition" is a group exhibition that explores the acknowledgment of a person's existence, validity, identity, or legality within the context of gender, environmental, health care, and social equality. The exhibition features work by more than 20 artists from around the country, including Oakland, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Tampa, Fla. The artwork ranges from sculpture and painting to mixed media and works on paper. The exhibit is organized by California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee. Featured artists: Jesus Barraza, Ellen Bepp, Alexandra (Ali) Blum (premiering new work), Melanie Cervantes; CJ Grossman, Mark Harris, Nancy Hom, Susan, Sam Huang, Dana King, Kitazawa, Lucien Kubo, Claudia Leung (premiering new work), Fernando MartÃ, Ricardo Levins Morales, Innosanto Nagara (premiering new work), Jos Sances, Pallavi Sharma, Judy Shintani, Patricia Miye Wakida, and Jenifer Wofford.
