Reach Higher: SFUSD African American College Signing Day

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Dear SFUSD High School Graduates and Families,
As part of Former First Lady Michelle Obama's Reach Higher Initiative we invite you to be our guests of honor at the 3rd Annual SFUSD African American College Signing Day Banquet on May 9, 2018. This year's event will be held at the University of San Francisco, McClaren Complex, 2130 Fulton Street beginning at 6pm.
College Signing Day celebrates high school seniors choosing to pursue higher education at a professional training program, a community college, a four-year college or university and continues Mrs. Obama’s efforts to inspire young people to pursue their education past high school. Hundreds of College Signing Day events have been planned in nearly every state across the country by communities, students, and organizations committed to helping students pursue higher education. The SFUSD College Signing Day event is hosted by the African American Parent Advisory Council, the African American Achievement and Leadership Initiative, The Alliance of Black School Educators, 100% College Prep and Beyond 12. This event is special because it recognizes young, gifted and Black graduates across San Francisco in an effort to uplift, inspire and celebrate the greatness of our youth.
All guests can expect a delicious meal, a special performance and an honoring ceremony. There will be a photo booth, swag bag giveaway and certificates for every senior.  Sign up now and let us know how many in your family will attend.
Hope to see you there,
AAPAC

"To all the students in this graduation series and across this country, I want to congratulate you for reaching higher to get the education you need for the life you want to live." - Mrs. Obama
