Dawn Harms leads this Violins of Hope concert, where instruments recovered from the Holocaust are played by both the Orchestra and the violin soloists. Kay Stern, Robin Mayforth and Dawn Harms solo in Chris Brubek's composition which fuses classical, jazz and Irish folk violin traditions in the amazing one-movement "Interplay." The concert starts with an overture by British composer and suffragette Ethel Smyth and concludes with Mendelssohn's picturesque "Scottish" Symphony No. 3 which evokes the wild, romantic landscapes of the North.
