Race for the Mind

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Dan Welch, a forty-year pharmaceutical industry veteran, writes a medical thriller about the audacious challenge to cure Alzheimer’s Disease. On the occasion of launching Welch’s book, the Mechanics Institute hosts a conversation about his novel, his experience in one of America’s remaining dominant industries, pharmaceuticals, and the challenges posed by Alzheimer’s. Following a conversation with Trustee Richard Laiderman, Welch will be joined by leading Alzheimer’s experts for a panel discussion and Q&A.

100% of the profits from books sales will be donated to Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Daniel Welch has decades of experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies and smaller, US-based biotech companies. He has had a leadership role in the development and launch of several “blockbuster” medicines; some the most prescribed in the world and others, breakthrough medicines for life threatening diseases. His experience leading over a dozen successful biotech companies includes roles as CEO, Chairman of the Board, Board Director and advisor. He makes his home in California and Colorado.
