THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
Queers & Comics Conference 2017 features two days of discussion panels, workshops, readings, and comics galore hosted at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA. This year we will spotlight international and emerging LGBTQ cartoonists, the history and artistry of queer manga, the role of the San Francisco Bay Area, and the future of queer comics.
The biennial conference format allows participants an opportunity to document the history and significance of LGBTQ comics, discuss the craft of cartooning, and promote queer creators in the comics industry in an intellectual and academic context. Queer cartoonists will be immersed in a unique environment to learn from each other and to inspire exciting future work through a series of workshops, panels, and spotlighted guest speakers.
We are thrilled to announce our 2017 Keynotes, Mariko Tamaki and Gengoroh Tagame!

Award-winning Canadian comics author Mariko Tamaki joins us from California's Bay Area. Her titles include Skim, Emiko Superstar, This One Summer, Supergirl: Being Super, and The Hulk.

Beyond our keynote speakers, there will be over 150 panelists, including such distinguished guests as:
Howard Cruse, Roberta Gregory, Trina Robbins, Rachel Pollack, Maurice Vellekoop, Patrick Fillion, Ed Luce, MariNaomi, Hilary Price, Marc Andreyko, Eric Orner, Robert Kirby, Ellen Forney, Sina Grace, Steve MacIsaac, Nicole Georges, Ivan Velez, Melanie Gilman, Dylan Edwards, Scout Tran-Caffee, Shannon Watters, Taneka Stotts, Zan Christensen, Tara Madison Avery, Andy Mangels, Dale Lazarov, Ajuan Mance, Susan Stryker, Darieck Scott, and Ramzi Fawaz and many more!
