Mill Valley Chamber Music Society continues its 2016-2017 Marin Chamber Performances concert series presenting Quatuor Danel.
Founded in 1991, Quatuor Danel has been at the forefront of the international music scene with important concert performances worldwide and a row of groundbreaking recordings, with many winning many important international awards.
The Quatuor Danel members are Marc Danel and Gilles Millet, violin; Vlad Bogdanas, viola; and Yovan Markovitch, cello.
The quartet is famous for their bold, concentrated interpretations of the string quartet cycles of Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Shostakovich, and Weinberg. Their lively and fresh vision on the traditional quartet repertoire has delivered them subsequent praise from public and press. The other part of their musical force lies in the collaboration with major contemporary composers such as Rihm, Lachenmann, Gubaidulina, Dusapin Jörg Widmann and Bruno Mantovani.
The Quatuor Danel concert program will include Debussy, Quartet in G; Mieczyslaw Weinberg, Quartet No. 5; and Beethoven, Quartet in B-flat, op. 130, with the Finale.
For its 2016 to 2017 season, Mill Valley Chamber Music Society introduces a new program offering free admission for young adults 18-years old and under. Audiences members 15-years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Call 415-381-4453 for ticket reservations or request tickets at the door.
