On March 27 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, MainStage, we are proud to present Nature Calling for Harmony, an exciting performance that brings together music, art and poetry.
Be transported, as we perform an enchanting repertoire of new music. Open. Space. Trust. and River Runs by Quadre's Daniel Wood and Adam Unsworth, respectively, set the stage for reflection. Renowned composer Jeff Scott's Terra Sacrum incorporates poetry, voice, piano and horns to tell a story of a bird's struggle and eventual freedom against a backdrop of suffering and emotional resilience.
Enter Harumo Sato's artistic creations as she captures the emotions evoked through our musical journey. Known for her striking paintings, murals and sculptures, Harumo's works seek to break through tension and chaos to find a place of balance and harmony.
Rest in the wisdom and understanding from the poetry and prose of Helen Keller, Bahinabai Chaudhari, Chief Dan George of the Tsleil-Wautuh Nation and Kenko Yoshida. Their probing thoughts add a third layer of depth to our multi-sensory performance.
Come enjoy an afternoon of breath-taking music and art!
We are pleased to share this program in two formats - our full length production at 5pm and an abbreviated sensory friendly performance at 1:30pm. The latest Covid protocols will be in place with sections reserved for social distancing. Every ticket you purchase helps support our Music with a Message work in the community.
Join us for Nature Calling for Harmony - a concert that will delight your senses - on Sunday, March 27. We look forward to seeing you there!
