PSDSP is a trio of avant grunge musicians aiming to revive an under represented ilk of heavy rock and roll, while also innovating and changing it. The band consists of Eli Carlton-Pearson on vocals and guitar, Brian Wilkerson on bass and vocals, and Michael Pinkham on drums. While the guitar-bass-drums set up may seem obvious, the music is anything but; ranging from ethereal, to personal, to abstract, to intricate, to in your face heaviness. One of the main influences of the band is the concept of compost, or rot, death and revival. When observing any natural cycle in it’s entirety, it becomes clear that death, disintegration, and some degree of gnarliness are part of the process of creating life, and so PSDSP celebrates this in it’s own creativity, generating both vibrance and darkness, violence and peace with it’s music. PSDSP creates a balance among these elements to create a sound that feels, if nothing else, real.
