Wed, April 4, Masterpiece Tour at 4:30pm, Premier Tours at 6pm, Post-Party & Silent Art Auction at 7pm

April 4th marks the 19th year of Private Collections, a one-of-a-kind event that offers a unique opportunity to tour the homes and art of seven prestigious art collectors in San Francisco. Beyond the white walls of a gallery or museum, the private tours provide access to notable collections not on view to the public, an intimate interaction with the artwork, and a deeper understanding of the mind of the collector. With Jonathan Rachman as the Honorary Chair, over 200 guests will join Private Collections for either the Masterpiece tour or the Premier tours, followed by a post-party reception and silent art auction.

The Masterpiece tour invites guests to the home of Deborah and Andy Rappaport, founders of the Minnesota Street Project. The collection focuses on art that speaks to the issues of our world and our time with works in many media, including a significant collection of time-based works. Among the many artists represented are Michal Rovner, Nina Katchadorian, Sandow Birk, Christian Jankowski, Stephen De Staebler, and Chris Doyle.

For the Premier Tours, attendees can choose from six unique home tours: The Diane and Chuck Frankel Collection, The Rich and Judy Guggenhime Collection, The Sara and Austin Hills Collection, The Francis Mill Collection, The Lenore Pereira and Richard Niles Collection, and The Paul Sack Collection. Many of these collections stand out for their in-depth focus on a particular type of art, including African, Cuban, contemporary women artists and photography.

The tours culminate in a reception at the Simon Breitbard Fine Arts' gallery, offering the perfect backdrop for art enthusiasts of any caliber, where guests may participate in a silent art auction with pieces donated by prominent Bay Area galleries.

Private Collections is a charitable event with 100% of net proceeds donated to Enterprise for Youth, a nonprofit that empowers young people to prepare for and discover career opportunities.
