Oakland, CA: Enjoy an evening of art, music, drinks and tastes of downtown! The Preview Party Benefit is a festive reception, kicking off the open studios season with an opportunity to view the Preview Exhibition featuring works by over 400 artists participating in East Bay Open Studios.
This annual spring fundraiser will be held on First Friday, May 3, 2013, 5-7pm in downtown Oakland at Pro Arts' gallery - East Bay Open Studios' Headquarters - at 150 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza. Enjoy music by DJ Ruckus, an open bar, and tastes featuring local downtown businesses, including Awaken Cafe, Lukas Taproom, Donut Savant and more!
Proceeds from the Preview Party benefit Pro Arts' visual arts programming and youth arts. At Pro Arts, with your support this past year, we produced 28 exhibitions and exhibited over 500 artists in the gallery. Our largest program, East Bay Open Studios, annually reaches an audience of over 61,000 studios visitors and generates over $340,000 in art sales for local artists. Pro Arts' arts education programming has reached over 400 students in eight Oakland schools. As Pro Arts enters its 40th year, it continues to be the only artist centered / artist supported non-profit organization with this scope of programming in the Oakland / East Bay area.
The Preview Party is part of a suite of special events and publications celebrating East Bay Open Studios, happening Saturdays and Sundays, June 1-2 and June 8-9.
