Friday, October 13, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, October 14, at 7:30 pm
Internationally acclaimed artists Alam Khan, Arjun K. Verma, and Del Sol Quartet are pleased to announce the world premiere performances of their new work, "The Resonance Between," taking place at San Francisco's Presidio Theatre on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th. Showtimes are at 7:30pm on both evenings.
With this dazzling collaboration, the musicians deftly blend the resonant splendor of Indian classical tradition with western classical sensibilities in a groundbreaking collaboration with distinguished composer Jack Perla and internationally performing tabla player Nilan Chaudhuri.
In these celebratory concert performances, "The Resonance Between" will take audiences on a musical journey exploring what it means to belong to more than one culture and to find one's identity between and beyond them. Weaving through different musical approaches including scintillating Indian classical solos, subtly evolving loops, Beethoven-esque counterpoint, and modern textural ambience, this piece presents a new type of ensemble sound, and is one of the first-ever works expressly composed for this instrumentation of sarod, sitar, tabla, two violins, viola, and cello. The result is cinematic, intimate, nuanced, and exhilarating -- and in live performance will be a sure delight for Bay Area audiences.
$20-$55.
Presented by Presidio Theatre on the Main Post.
