Portola Music Festival

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The inaugural Portola Music Festival taking place September 24th and 25th at San Francisco's Pier 80 has been announced with tickets going on sale this Friday, May 20th. The festival boasts one of the most exciting lineups of the year (complete lineup below). The festival's namesake is an ode to the Portola Festival of 1909, which was a celebration of the re-opening of San Francisco, three years after the earthquake of 1906 decimated the city. It was set up to publicize to the world that San Francisco was back open and ready to host tourists.

Presented by Goldenvoice and the brainchild of Goldenvoice VP Talent Buyer Danny Bell, Portola aims to incorporate all different corners of the dance/indie/hip-hop/progressive pop realm. Bell notes: This is the festival I've wanted to produce for the past decade. San Francisco is the perfect city for it and now is the perfect time! Let's dance and have a great time this September!

Encompassing the outsider perspective that unites many cultures throughout San Francisco, Portola Music Festival brings together new, buzzing electronic artists, metaverse pop stars, and legendary names all over the same weekend. The festival boasts a lineup where attendees can roam from tents to a 400,000-square-foot warehouse to a main stage that has the SF skyline as the backdrop from Pier 80. The festival will include local food offerings (restaurants to be announced at a later date) with craft beer, local wine, and cocktails.

Note: M.I.A. cancelled due to a serious and unexpected health matter that occurred earlier this summer.
