Polythene Pam / soft vowel sounds / Rusty Sunsets

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Hey friends! We're back with our first show of 2019, and it's gonna be awesome!!

Join us with our good friend, Soft Vowel Sounds (Julia Serano), and our brand new friend, Rusty Sunsets (Esten Hurtle) at our favorite venue -- Laughing Monk Brewing!! It'll be a fantastic evening of music, beer, merriment, laughing, dancing, and assorted hijinks!

We're rolling out a couple *brand new* songs, and gearing up to record our new album! It's gonna be a great time! See ya there!

Show starts at 6:30-ish (Queer Standard Time) with Rusty Sunsets leading the lineup!

---

Polythene Pam are an upbeat, whimsical, quirky queer folk punk girl band. Think TMBG, Violent Femmes, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Magnetic Fields, and a dash of Beatles in a big ol' eclectic, catchy, musical stew. Laugh, dance, and sing along -- fun times for all! Check out the music at https://bit.ly/polypam-youtube or https://bit.ly/polypam-spotify

*soft vowel sounds* is the latest indie-pop solo music project from former Bitesize guitarist/lyricist/primary song writer Julia Serano.

With *soft vowel sounds*, julia offers a rather novel mix of deliciously percussive & dissonant guitar noises, catchy-as-hell melodies, smart yet silly lyrics, unconventional yet oddly endearing vocals, and occasional keyboard & bird squawks. While decidedly contemporary, the quirkiness and charming minimalism of *soft vowel sounds* evokes the spirit of early lo-fi recordings from artists such as Guided By Voices, Liz Phair, Pavement, Beat Happening, Sebadoh, and They Might Be Giants

Rusty sunsets is just a girl, standing in front of a synthesizer’s flashing lights, holding an acoustic guitar and a harmonica, playing folk songs with bleeps and bloops. rusty sunsets is esten cara and whoever chooses to join, whether sentient beings or MIDI-controlled robots, writing songs about small towns and big towns, meteors and hormones.
