Eddie and the Heartbeats
Eddie and the Heartbeats songs are a journey through Varga's life as a transgender man that are honest, vulnerable, sometimes melancholic and sometimes goofy and sometimes both. Some of his songwriting influences are Jonathan Richman and the Magnetic Fields along with 60's rock and pop. Eddie and the Heartbeats have been compared to Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Wally Peasant and Beat Happening. During his live performances Varga also shares anecdotes of growing up trans in the 1970's and 1980's in a small Wisconsin town, transitioning, trans trauma and other reflections on trans life.
