What are the politics of the "Digital Humanities"? UCSC's Poetry & Politics Research Collective is hosting a day-long symposium on Saturday, February 1 to explore the political and intellectual effects of doing creative and scholarly work in a digital era. The symposium will feature presentations by graduate students across disciplines as well as responses from UCSC faculty, and will culminate with a keynote by UCLA Professor of Bibliographic Studies and renowned book artist Johanna Drucker. A poetry reading at the Felix Kulpa Gallery, featuring readings by Drucker and local Santa Cruz and Bay Area poets, precedes the event on the evening of Friday, January 31.
