One day I'm going to write a chiptune blurb without referencing an old school video game system. But today is not that day. What does Weezer sound like on a Commodore 64? Now we know! Well, maybe we already did because apparently chiptune Weezer covers are a thing (?), but San Jose's own Petriform has recently done his own super cool 8-bit cover of "Burndt Jamb." He goes beyond just the chiptune stuff into drum-n-bass, and even speedcore (high-tempo techno), complete with those screaming goats from YouTube. Don't feel bad if the speedcore is too much, though. (No one's ever listened to more than 30 seconds of speedcore before turning it off and saying, "I think I get it.") Petriform's other stuff is much more accessible. (Stephen Layton)
