Artist Peter Turner will be featuring his creation California crafted Table that is also a game. This unique table has a top that is made of oak flooring and is sourced from all the little pieces left over from putting in his floor.
Turner states, "I have always liked the look of checker/ diamond/ lightning patterns.
It took hundreds of very careful cuts to get the pattern to fit together properly, and then all glued down to high grade 3/4 inch plywood. The legs are cut from 4" x 12" fir and are meant to have the look of pool table legs. They are also detachable for moving.
The game is obviously borrowing from chess, but with a few extra rules and almost twice as many pieces. (Twice as many of each kind except kings and queens). The game is called "Hunger Thrones," the brain child of Turner's sister Julia.
Turner's Table and many other great artists work will be on display at Gualala Arts Festival
