Peter Gabriel: i/o - The Tour

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Six-time Grammy winner Peter Gabriel dazzled audiences around the globe during his 2012 Back to Front tour, proving once again that the former Genesis frontman still has the power to put on a truly spectacular concert. This tour was special in that it featured a complete performance of Gabriel's 1986 landmark album, So. Throughout the show, video screens were used to full effect, at times filtering the action through an eerie, security camera-like lens. When the stage lit up for upbeat songs, splashing supernova hues on the giant white backdrop behind the band, ticket buyers were ecstatic, fueled by Gabriel's trademark stage energy.

In 2010, Gabriel released Scratch My Back, an album of covers. In 2013, he recorded a sequel called And I'll Scratch Yours, an album of his songs that were covered by the artists he himself covered on his previous record. Ever the bold artist, Gabriel is constantly surprising fans with new ventures. Born in postwar England, Gabriel founded the prog-rock supergroup Genesis in 1967 with his schoolmates. Gabriel was known for flamboyant antics, elaborate costumes and an actor's flair for dramatic concert performances. After his departure from the band in 1975, Gabriel set his career course for superstardom. Over the years, he's worn various impressive hats, including that of producer, pop star, film composer, activist and proponent of world music. His live concerts events are simply packed with extravagant style and energy. His famous album, So, contained an impressive array of masterfully rendered songs and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200. That same year, six of the album's singles appeared in the Top 100 with the haunting "In Your Eyes" and the funky powerhouse "Sledgehammer" both reaching No. 1 status. Gabriel's music is hard to categorize, but one thing is certain: it never disappoints.
