About the Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA)
WCA is a national organization dedicated since its founding in 1972 to supporting women artists, art historians, students, educators, and museum professionals. WCA is committed to recognizing the contribution of women in the arts, providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development, expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women, supporting local, national, and global art activism, and advocating for equity in the arts for all.
The Peninsula Chapter of WCA concentrates on providing exhibition opportunities for women artists, sharing resources, and educational networking. Recent shows include the Coastal Arts League Gallery in Half Moon Bay and the Milton Marks Conference Center Galleries in San Francisco.
About the Twin Pines Art Center
The Twin Pines Art Center is a coalition of studio artists and three arts organizations: ARTshare of San Mateo County, the Belmont Arts Council, and the Peninsula Museum of Art. ARTshare is the County's Local Arts Partner, dedicated to supporting and strengthening our cultural organizations, improving the quality of life, and promoting our culturally rich community. The Belmont Arts Council's Gallery offers changing exhibitions of work by local artists. The Museum includes the formal Gallery, Museum Store, and Art Reference Library. Twelve rooms on the second floor (and penthouse) provide working studios for visual artists.
