Pawn Shop Soul was founded in 2013 by a group of veteran soul, funk, and jazz musicians. They are on a mission to bring back live performance of soul instrumentals in the tradition of Stax, Volt, and Chess. With a horn line of two trumpets and tenor and bari saxophones, as well as a Hammond organ, Pawn Shop Soul cooks up a soul stew with bits of jazz, funk, and Latin influenced music thrown in. Despite having only been together for a mere four months, these guys will have you bouncing in your seat to tunes you may be hearing for the first time but your body understands immediately.
