Patterns in Practice at SF Zen Center

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Creativity Explored is excited to announce Patterns in Practice, a new exhibition at San Francisco Zen Center curated by Creativity Explored board member Arianna Orland.
Repetition and pattern, pattern and repetition. Why do we make things, and why does it matter? A question for the ages. What happens in the making when we let go of our formal expectations? Are we then making to communicate something poetic, something greater, something beyond words and something deeply human? Patterns in Practice explores work from a variety of Creativity Explored artists where mark making is essential to their creative practice. Untethered to the trappings of representational form, this curation asks us to transcend expectation and explore what lies beyond. The exhibition features original paintings, drawings and fiber art by nine CE artists: Charles Cruz, Elana Cooper, Linda Davenport, Roland Record, Kevin Roach, Hung Kei Shiu, Ana Maria Vidalon, Marilyn Wong, and Doris Yen.
The exhibition will be on view and open to the public from June 6 through June 30 in the main reception area of the Zen Center. Please see the SF Zen Center's website for hours. Join us for the Public Reception on Thursday, June 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
