March 17, 23 at 8PM; Mar 18, 24, 25 at 2PM
In our 45th year of high-quality stage productions, Lyric Theatre presents "Patience," a musical comedy by England's most famous musical theater duo, WS Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan.
All the women in an English village are obsessed with the latest fad -- except for Patience, the one person in the village who refuses to fall in love. Our production sets the show in the present day, and portrays a village where the latest fad has supplanted distressed jeans, fidget spinners, and kale.
"Patience," a bigger hit than "HMS Pinafore" or "The Pirates of Penzance" when it first opened, is one of the gems of the Gilbert and Sullivan canon, with witty lyrics, wonderful music, and a satirical take on fads and the people who follow them for shallow reasons.
A new production, fully staged, in English, with full orchestra. Performed by accomplished principal singers and chorus from the entire Bay Area.
Stage Director: Doreen Finkelstein
Music Director: Jeff Yaeger
Vocal Director: Paul Zawilski
Producer: Larry Tom
Discounts available for Students, Seniors, and Groups.
