In commemoration of Pasados del Presidio, Los Cenzontles (The Mockingbirds) will perform acoustic traditional music from a variety of Mexican regions including the son Jarocho of Veracruz, pirekuas of Indigenous Michoacan, boleros, corridos and rancheras. Los Cenzontles is a band, a non-profit organization, a music academy, a community space for youth and families, and a hub for Latino artists – all working together to amplify our Mexican roots in the Bay Area and beyond. The organization was recognized by National Public Radio, and founder and director Eugene Rodriguez received the Fanfare Award from the SF Conservatory of Music in February 2017.
