Partisan Intrigue in the Golden Gate State during Civil War
Tuesday, April 9 - 7:30pm
Old Mint 5th & Mission (parking available at Fifth & Mission Garage)
Volumes have been written about the massive Civil War battles fought in the East, the South and the raids in the Midwest, but little mention is made of the tension and skirmishes in “neutral” California. Join historian Charles Fracchia to hear the seldom-told history of the intrigue and hostilities played that out here in during the Civil War - including fortifications at Fort Alcatraz and Fort Point, and transport of gold and silver to fund Union cause.
Bring your friends and neighbors and introduce them to SFMHS and all we have to offer them!
Reservations not required.
