Paisley Project

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Paisley Project was formed in late 2016 by members of the bands Nott the Hoople and Chromatic Fever. The concept of the band is to take the three year period 1967 through 1969 and explore the very best rock music from that period. We tend to gravitate toward the songs you don’t hear covered every day.

“Instead of Jumpin’ Jack Flash or Brown Sugar we’ll do 2,000 Light Years from Home or Sway” says band leader and vocalist Fred Jardin. Paisley Project has three very talented vocalists and enjoy exploring the possibilities of advanced vocal harmonies. We also have two great guitarists who work together incredibly well.

Band Members:

Fred Jardin, vocals – In 1983 Fred founded the band Freddie Meteor and the Asteroids which began as a 1950 rock and roll spoof and developed into enthusiastic original band with deep 60’s British Invasion influence. Later bands included Brave New World, Nigiri Combo, Effenwolf: The Ultimate Steppenwolf Tribute and Nott the Hoople: A Tribute to the Music af Ian Hunter and Mott the Hoople.

Jonny P. Richard – Keyboards

Austrailian Keyboard Genius, Richard handled the keys for the acclaimed Australian band Rough Idea for over 10 year coming to America as a member of Suzette Davidson’s band, Hard To Find. He joined Mott the Hoople in early 2016 and after the dissolution of the Hoople became a member of Revolution Stuff.

Phil Catalfo — guitar & vocals

For nearly 25 years, Phil has had an active career as a writer and editor, including a stint as Editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine. Phil performed as half of an acoustic duo during the late ’60s and early ’70s and, in the years since, has remained an avid guitarist and passionate singer. He has been invited to share the stage with Laurie Lewis, David Gans, and others, and in recent years has performed with The Mood Elevators and other combos. Today, besides sharing lead vocals and lead-guitar duties in Chromatic Fever, Phil sings and plays guitar in the acoustic quartet Shards of Green.

Sugar Jackson – guitar & vocals

Sugar Jackson has being doing this a long time. One of Marin County’s most sought after guitarists, he played in several bands in the Bay Area.

Alan Novidor — bass

At the age of 13, when rock ‘n’ roll’s “British Invasion” landed on our shores, Alan willingly surrendered. He traded his catcher’s mitt for a bass guitar—and has never looked back. Throughout junior and senior high school, he was a member of one of the busiest garage bands in San Diego, The Mark IV, which, in the mid-to-late Sixties, played venues large and small throughout the southland.

During his early and middle adult years, Alan appears to have lost his way a bit, in that he did very little live performing with bands. However, his love of music and for his instrument never diminished, and he continued to play, practice, and hone his skills.

Fortunately, about a decade ago he regained his focus, re-found his calling, and got his mojo working again; since then, he has performed regularly throughout Northern California with several very active bands, including Classified, T-2, and Luminous Newts. He has also appeared on a number of session recordings for other Bay Area musicians. Alan was a member of Chromatic Fever along with Phil Catalfo.

Phil Vitti – drums

Phil Vitti is a multi-percussionist who has performed with several bands throughout the years. He and Fred Jardin were childhood friends and began jamming with each other at the age of 12. They are both happy to reunite as members of Revolution Stuff and The Paisley Project.
