What does the contemporary painter paint today? How do subject, form and color come together in a distinctive, meaningful way at a time when there is the feeling that everything has been done? Each week an aspect of these questions will be explored through a mix of presentations, experiments, critique and individualized studio work. This course supports original approaches by the painter, while encouraging a continued commitment to painting as a powerful force in the expanded field of art.
