'Outliers' is a show about the far reaching limbs of the main cultural body - a study of the edge. The metaphysical, the primal, the black landscape, the shadow of self, the blatant disregard of 'reality' as most know it to be, and the direct connection to source, manifestation, and vibrational realism. Tapping into humor, with a taste of cynicism toward the absurdity of contrast in human experience. Common themes in Bud´s current work are metaphysics, wild sex, dark humor, psychedelics, human confusion, hierarchies, the little guy, perceived inadequacies, spiritual elevation, occultism, personal tuning, and divination. Common imagery includes snakes, aliens, tongues, abstracted animals, simplified humans, sex organs, word and font play, as well as composite personal and societal mythology. Bud Snow says: "I take an intuitive, automatic, and multiple technique application to my practice. Having coined the term 'Neo Primalism' as a way to describe my work, I´ve been exploring a direct, process-heavy approach in the studio after a lot of time painting outside." This show includes works on paper, automatic contour drawings, mono prints, paper mâché sculpture, multi media paintings, found object sculpture, divination tools (Bud Snow oracle cards and bone reading sets), multimedia clothing, theatrical wears, wall paintings, and light sculpture.
