Come PLAY in Oakland's central plaza! The first Our City: Oakland Public Design Fair is a three-day celebration of new public design projects that promote play - created by, with, and for the people of Oakland. With twelve interactive installations, four panels, multiple performances, and a public closing party, the Fair will offer something for everyone! The installations will include a pedal-powered musical organ, a human-scale wire-and-bead maze, a photo wall, and a number of interactive play structures for ages 1 to 101.
During the event, thousands of Oakland kids, families, residents, and visitors will experience and respond to the installations - with the goal of inspiring more permanent work that reimagines the future of the city as a place for play.
The Fair is being produced by the nonprofit Our City in partnership with the City of Oakland, 50 Fund, Bank of the West, and an exciting, diverse group of community partners.
The Fair will be open to the public from 8:00am - 8:00pm, Thursday February 4 through Saturday February 6. On Saturday 2/6, a full day of programming will include panel presentations and performances from exciting leaders in Oakland’s arts, design, and civic communities.
