3:15 p.m. recitalist Mina Marie Jelinek studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, receiving the highest academic mention "tres bien" in organ performance, organ improvisation, and Gregorian Chant. She won first prize in the Regional Competition for Young Organists and performed in two recitals for the 2016 National American Guild of Organists Convention in Houston, TX. Mina Marie graduated from The Juilliard School and The Eastman School of Music. She has performed at venues such as The Royal Chapel of Versailles, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, St-Eustache, l'Abbaye de St-Ouen (Rouen), and The National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. She has played live-broadcast liturgies for Trinity Wall St, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and St. Mary the Virgin (NYC). Mina Marie is currently Director of Music at St Aidan's Episcopal Church in San Francisco.
Some of the most beautiful choral music has been composed for Evensong. The rich musical history of this service continues to be enriched by new composers. The music for the June 8 Evensong at 4:00 p.m. includes choral responses by Cecilia McDowall, the anthem "Come, Thou Holy Paraclete" by David Hurd, and the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in A by Herbert Sumsion.
