SEE EVENT DETAILS
March 18 at 2PM; March 19 at 2PM

LYRIC THEATRE OF SAN JOSE, in our 50th year of high quality live musical theater productions, offers a treasure from one of America's most beloved composers.

Orange Blossoms by Victor Herbert, Frederique de Gresac, & Buddy DeSylva. Updated libretto by Alyce Mott.

Romantic musical comedy presented as a 1920s radio show.

Orange Blossoms (1922), is the last complete score created by Victor Herbert. One of the first new wave of librettos, by French writer Frederique de Gresac, it features a more modern present day plot. The work also continues Herbert's championship of the independent strong woman extracting herself from her own difficulties.

The plot concerns wealthy Baron Roger Belmont who is advised to enter into a temporary sham marriage with Kitty, goddaughter of his friend and lawyer Brassac in order to evade the conditions of his aunt's will, which were intended to block his liaison with a glamorous divorcee Helene de Vasquez.

Music Director: Bruce Herman
Stage Directors: Tressa Bender and Doreen Finkelstein

Pre-show talk by Victor Herbert expert, Alyce Mott, at 1:15pm

Discounts available for Groups.

$20-$30.

Presented by Lyric Theatre of San Jose.
