Optimal Visibility: Third Eye Color Therapy by Jermaine Dante' Burse: Opening Reception

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Four Barrel Coffee is pleased to present "Optimal Visibility: Third Eye Color Therapy" by Jermaine Dante’ Burse. Through intellectual pursuits, spiritual growth and maturation as a father, a citizen of the world, and most provocatively as an artist, Jermaine’s third eye has been opened. This body of work is a colorful and energetic response to the rapidly changing world around us: the phenomenon of globalization has turned both this nation and the world smaller yet more polarized and intense. Populist themes and nationalist and tribal affinities are playing greater roles, and many people continue to fall out of the middle class and into obscurity. Struggles with economic woes, political disenfranchisement, and social insecurities are the themes that drive Jermaine to lash out on his canvases and give voice and light to those around us who have become invisible. This series aims to help us truly see our interconnectedness and reflect on reversing that feeling of invisibility through the art for change, transformation and "Optimal Visibility.”

An artist since early childhood, Jermaine Dante’ Burse has been on a continuous self taught path of artistic growth and development. He has spent time studying and absorbing the work of the great masters as well as many 20th century artists including Picasso, Basquiat, Warhol, and his greatest influencer, Walt Disney. Recently Jermaine’s work has developed into a unique style most closely resembling spontaneous realism. In addition to the socially charged series "Optimal Visibility: Third Eye Color Therapy," much of his work involves depictions of prominent figures in popular culture painted with Jermain’s singular perspective. Jermaine shows his art regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, and has also shown at Art Basel in Miami and Kaboo Music Festival in California. He is an active participant with Doctors Without Borders, Build a Heart Foundation, Mentis Mental Health, and Ferrari Sacramento Chapter.

Join us on Friday May 17th from 6-8pm for the opening reception for "Optimal Visibility: Third Eye Color Therapy." Drinks will be served and the artist will be in attendance. The exhibition runs through July 9, 2019.
