February 24, 9AM to 5PM, and February 25, 12PM to 5PM
MCD is thrilled to present the two new exhibitions, "Indie Folk: New Art and Sounds from the Pacific Northwest" and "Mr. Roboto," opening on February 24.
"Indie Folk":
The Pacific Northwest is home to early craft traditions, pre-industrial cultures, and Indigenous and settler histories. Guest-curated by Melissa E. Feldman, "Indie Folk: New Art and Sounds from the Pacific Northwest" features an intergenerational array of seventeen notable artists from the area. Like folk art, the exhibition features unpretentious handmade works that often blur the line between functionality and aesthetics.
"Mr.Roboto"
Robots are our partners in the future. Conducted by approximately 60 San Jose State University students and guest curated by Virginia San Fratello and Eleanor Pries, "Mr. Roboto" showcases a collection of design activities and experiments that test the creative possibilities of collaborating with a robot.
Be the first to experience "Indie Folk" and "Mr. Roboto" by reserving your tickets for opening weekend today.
$8-$10.
Presented by Museum of Craft and Design.
