Opening Reception for Datz Press: Global Voices in Contemporary Photobooks

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Datz Press is an artist book publisher and community space based in Seoul, South Korea. Focused on working with photographers, designers, and bookmakers, Datz Press creates, publishes, and exhibits works centered on photography, operating a bookmaking studio to support artists who want to self-publish their work. Director Sangyon Joo also oversees the Datz Museum of Art and a book project space called D'ARK ROOM; her comprehensive vision of artists' photo books includes artists living and working across many countries and cultures while creating compelling work.

San Francisco Center for the Book's latest exhibition, "Datz Press: Contemporary Voices in Global Photobooks" showcases ten years of collaboration and artist book production between Datz Press and artists such as Linda Connor, Myung Duck Joo, Chris McCaw, and Young Suh. Over forty-five photobooks, from special edition volumes to handling copies of exhibited work, will be displayed. The public is invited to meet the publishers and artists of Datz Press at this year's San Francisco Art Book Fair, where they will be selling works. An opening reception for "Datz Press: Contemporary Voices in Global Photobooks" will take place at San Francisco Center for the Book on Tuesday, July 18th. Datz Press Director Sangyon Joo will be on hand to offer opening remarks.

Exhibiting artists include Bryant Austin, Barbara Bosworth, Wayne Levin, Amanda Marchand, Rhonda Lashley Lopez, Minny Lee, and Xianlu Yi (among others).
