This exhibit is about the representation of bodies of color in intimacy that we see in communities here in the bay area. An interracial exploration of dominance and submission dynamics within sensuality. A view of bodies of color during intimate acts and what that means to different people. A reflection on the hypersexualistion of different bodies. This collection is for viewers to interpret subtle body language, dynamics of power. Asking the question, what is pleasure and what are the roles we play?
People throughout the bay area are invited to come to the show to interpret the subtle body dynamics and colors for themselves, or to join the conversation about the dynamics of Interracial intimacy, ripe with layers and stories from within our cultures.
The artist Mona Shomali is Iranian American and was born in Los Angeles in 1979, the same year her parents immigrated to the US during the Iranian Revolution.
The show runs from Nov 13 till Dec 13. The gallery is open daily from 12 to 6.
