Punch needle rug hooking- sometimes described as "painting with wool"- is a versatile craft that began in the 1880s. Fast, easy, and fun, this traditional craft is enjoying new popularity with fiber artists around the world.
In this class, you'll be creating a case for your glasses, cheaters, or sunglasses! Delightfully fast and easy, we'll be using the #10 Oxford Punch Needle with 100% wool rug yarn to make fat and fun loops. We'll be punching into beautiful primitive linen which means you will only have to punch one side of the case. You'll learn how to use a punch needle, how to create the correct size stitch with the needle, and a traditional finishing technique. By the end of class, you will have the basic skills necessary to make larger wall hangings, pillows, and rugs!
This online workshop takes place on Sunday 9/13 from 11 am - 1 pm PST via Zoom Meeting. You will receive login directions prior to the workshop.
