When Ryan Tedder isn't busy writing hit singles for his own band, OneRepublic, he's out penning hits for other pop stars, like Adele, Beyonce, One Direction, Kelly Clarkson, B.o.B., Jennifer Lopez and countless others. So chances are, even people that claim to not like OneRepublic, probably have been humming along to a couple songs Tedder's written. OneRepublic got their start in the mid-90s, but didn't really get any major attention until 2006 with their single "Apologize" (first released by the band and then later remixed and released by Timbaland.) Their sound falls somewhere between Maroon 5 and Coldplay, but also with a subtle hip-hop and dance influence to balance out the heart-on-the-sleeve amphitheater ballads. (Aaron Carnes)
