On Saturday December 2nd The Trouble With Monkeys will kick out the jams at the Art House Gallery & Cultural Center 2905 Shattuck Ave in Berkeley. Doors 6:30PM Show 7:30PM Donations $15.00-$25.00 Please tell your friends and hep us spread the word.

The Trouble With Monkeys is the only band on the planet that rocks-out and punks-up the smash hits of the fabulous Monkees. Not just a cloned and xeroxed tribute act, TTWM has revamped those wonderful ‘60s radio and album cuts with gritty guitars, soaring vocals, and shake-your-booty grooves. It’s a celebration of modern Monkees madness!

Founded by guitarist—and editor of Guitar Player magazine —Michael Molenda (Wobblies, Soul Poets, Ol’Cheeky Bastards) and bassist Patrick Wong (Ol’ Cheeky Bastards) in 2009, the two musicians discovered how much the Monkees’ music remains recognizable and beloved when an impromptu version of “I’m a Believer” sent a club audience of hipster Millennials into spasms of bliss. They decided right then and there to dedicate TTWM to a full-time extravaganza of Monkees material from “Last Train to Clarksville” to “Pleasant Valley Sunday” and beyond.

The other Monkeys musicians are lead guitarist Sam Haun (Luvhead, the Diversions), percussionist/vocalist Cheryl Munoz (Ol’ Cheeky Bastards), and drummer Dana Parker (the Killer Queens). The Trouble With Monkeys have unleashed Monkees mania at festivals (Gilroy Garlic Festival, San Mateo Fair, Lafayette Art & Wine Festival, Fremont Burgers & Brews), fab theaters (Fox Redwood City, Mystic Petaluma, Empress Vallejo), Bay Area clubs (Slim’s, Catalyst Club, Don Quixote’s, Seahorse Sausalito), and on tours to Los Angeles (Maui Sugar Mill, Four Queens, Redballs, Norman’s Rare Guitars).

The band also explores other fab hits released during the run of The Monkees television show (1966-1968), such as “Time Won’t Let Me” (Outsiders), “Kicks” (Paul Revere & the Raiders), “Wild Thing” (Troggs), and “The Beat Goes On” (Sonny & Cher).

Don't miss this show, it's going to be a Big Fun Blast! :) — with Michael Molenda and Harold Adler at Art House Gallery & Cultural Center.
